No, our Jura Capresso may not be a need, but because thoughtful conversation, uncontrollable laughter, and intimate moments with friends happen over coffee in our house, it is an essential. Of course I can survive without coffee and vacation but I don't want to live without them.  They are essential pieces that build our family dynamic.

Having a travel budget is essential for our family.  I'm addicted to all the "new" that comes with travel adventures.  New inside jokes waiting to happen, new favorite meals you'll never be able to re-create so of course you have to come back some day,

My closet (actually, I don't even have a real closet) consists of just a handful of items most of which are grey with a few pops of black and white stripes.  I only wear shoes when forced to. And until recently there were very few things hanging on our walls or sitting on our shelves.  I prefer to keep the house--and the rest of my life--trimmed down to the things that matter, just the essentials. Can I just call myself an "essentialist?"
